BORDC Newsletter Submission Guidelines
BORDC invites you to submit news on your grassroots activities to be published in the Grassroots News section of our monthly e-newsletter. Please read the following guidelines before writing and submitting your article(s). Thanks.
- Articles should be 100-200 words. Please submit something close to the assigned word count. Your article may be edited for length.
- Lead the article with what is new rather than a history of what has led up to the current situation. The history is important, but should come after the new information.
- Use either past or present tense, but be consistent.
- Use either first or third person narration, but be consistent.
- Avoid passive language. For example, instead of “Jane Doe
was kidnapped and transported to a detention center in another country
by the CIA,” write “The CIA kidnapped Jane Doe and transported
her to a detention center in another country.”
Feel free to include links for your article, such as a link to a news article, or to a website giving more information on your issue. - Include a one-sentence bio of yourself, the URL of your organization’s website, and the city and state of the activities.
- Submit articles to newsletter editor Amy Ferrer or grassroots campaign coordinator Emma Roderick. Email submissions only, please.
If you have questions, feel free to e-mail Amy or call the office at 413-582-0110.
